History

Son-Sheim is a privately owned music school, started by Jan Albertson and Liz Grefsheim.

Both former music educators in the Fridley School District, Jan and Liz teamed up in 1982 combining efforts, talents and last names, as they founded Son-Sheim Music School.
Music is their life and their goal is to share music with people of all ages, through teaching and performing.

Meet Us

The school contracts degreed teachers, specializing in voice, piano, guitar, woodwinds, strings, and brass.
In addition to private lessons, Son-Sheim also offers three performing choirs, Musikgarten, Martial Arts, and an education-based dance curriculum with a Christian emphasis. (Sondance Studio)

Philosophy

Son-Sheim Music School works to meet the needs of the community, public, private & and home school students.

The school’s philosophy is that music is for everyone! Thus each student is treated as a special individual with unique musical expectations and goals for himself/herself.
