Janice Albertson is co-founder of Son-Sheim Music School and Sondance studios, in Spring Lake Park, Anoka, Maple Grove and Burnsville, Minnesota.

She holds a MA and BS in Music Education from the University of Minnesota, Mpls. She taught voice, piano and guitar at Son-Sheim for 20 years and currently directs the Son-Sheim choirs (Sunbeam Kids and Sunshine Kids) as well as accompanies the Rainbow Kids Choir. She taught K-12 vocal music in Grand Marias, MN, K-6 vocal music in St Louis Park, MN, and Fridley, MN before starting Son-Sheim Music School.

She expanded her music education by taking up the oboe in 1998. She was a member of the North Suburban Concert Band and played with the St Anthony Concert Band. Currently she plays with the Century Chamber Orchestra and enjoys playing in small groups to accompany church productions. She says it is the hardest thing she has ever done.

She enjoys much physical activity: has run Grandma's Marathon, swims, walks daily, skiis, roller blades, and bikes. She would like to do a triathalon, soon.

She is marrried and has two grown daughters.

She tries to keep her priorities: God, family, self, and career, in that order.
