Amy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumental and Classroom Music, K-12 from St Cloud State University.

Her teaching experience includes maintaining a private flute studio for 12 years, teaching K-2nd grade music at Zimmerman Elementary, Zimmerman, MN for 3 years, and serving as a long-term substitute in 8th grade band, 7th grade clarinet class, and 8th grade US History at North View Jr. High in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Amy has taught flute lessons to all ages and ability levels in her private studio. She has positive expectations for her students, helping them set goals that are challenging yet achievable. Amy enjoys helping students reflect on the learning process so they can evaluate their own playing and better help themselves at home.

Amy performed in the St. Cloud State University Wind Ensemble, plays music at numerous weddings, and was principal flute for the choir cantata, "Who is this King?" Amy is a member of Voice Care Network, Sigma Alpha Iota and Music Educator National Conference. Amy has been married 5 years and has two children. Amy is an active member at Bethlehem Baptist, North Campus in Mounds View.
