About Us

Son-Sheim Music School provides excellent instrumental and voice instruction, taught by degreed/experienced professionals whose passion for their art and for their student’s success infuses every lesson.

Son-Sheim Music School offers a variety of musical opportunities including small group and individual instruction in a wide range of instruments as well as choral and individual voice instruction. Most teachers have a Bachelor’s degree and some have Master’s or Doctoral degrees. The education, experience, and passion that the instructors bring to the classroom create an environment ideal for mentoring each student toward their individual goals.

Son-Sheim was founded by Jan Albertson and Liz Grefsheim, both former music educators in the Fridley School District. Jan and Liz teamed up in 1982 to combine their efforts, talents, and last names, as they founded Son-Sheim Music School. Music is their life and their goal is to share music with people of all ages, through teaching and performing.

Son-Sheim Music School works to meet the needs of the community, public, private & and home school students. The school"s philosophy is that music is for everyone! Thus each student is treated as a special individual with unique musical expectations and goals for himself/herself.
